An Advocate for You in State Government
As an IHCA member, you will directly benefit from one of the strongest and most effective public policy teams in Illinois, the Health Care Council of Illinois (HCCI). HCCI is the joint public policy and communication affiliate of IHCA and the Illinois Council on Long Term Care, and has your interests well-represented, whether lobbying the Illinois General Assembly or working with state agencies on regulatory matters. Long term care providers in Illinois need an advocate who can affect policy, and as an IHCA member, you’ll have one in HCCI. At the same time, IHCA DD members have a strong voice under The Center for Developmental Disabilities and Community Supports. These organizations work together to benefit the entire long term care profession.

High-Quality, Low-Cost Educational Programs
IHCA provides timely, top-notch educational opportunities for its members throughout the year. CEs are always provided. As a member, you’ll benefit from substantial discounts on these seminars. In addition, each year IHCA offers the largest and best-attended convention of its kind in Illinois, with speakers and vendors drawn from all across the country. Timely and Strategic Information
The long term care profession is complex and ever-changing, but as an IHCA member, you will be kept well-informed through a comprehensive communication program administered by IHCA’s public policy and communication affiliate, the Health Care Council of Illinois. The HCCI communication program includes a weekly regulatory newsletter; two monthly clinical newsletters; a monthly activity newsletter; a bi-monthly member newsletter; a legislative newsletter published during legislative session; and a tri-annual magazine. The Center for Developmental Disabilities Advocacy and Community Supports (CDDACS) provides a wealth of helpful information for facilities serving the DD community. For more information on the CDDACS, click here.

Networking Opportunities
IHCA members have access to a vast network of fellow members and opportunities to become more involved in Illinois’ long term care profession. IHCA is a member-driven organization, and as such, has many committees on which members may serve. In addition, IHCA regularly organizes roundtable meetings at its member facilities. These meetings offer continuing education credit and the opportunity to network with other providers in your area. For more information, click here.
