About the Event
Alzheimer’s and Dementia Training is a pre-requisite for anyone who would like to be a certified dementia
practitioner with the
National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. This program is interactive and covers the following topics:
- Intro to Dementia
- Normal Aging vs Dementia
- Communication, Feelings and Repetitive Behaviors
- Wandering, Paranoia, and Hallucinations – How to re-direct
- Intimacy, Sexuality, Negative Behaviors
- Activity ideas and Memory Care Dementia Calendar
- Staff and Family Relationships; Stress and the Caregiver
- Multicultural Considerations, Pastoral Care, and End of Life
Class size is limited to 50.
